Eagle Ridge School

Central High School Monument
Location: Davenport, Iowa

Davenport’s educational and cultural corridor starts at the Mississippi River with the Figge Art Museum, proceeds through Scott Community College, Palmer College of Chiropractic, Davenport Community School District’s Central High School, and J. B. Young Intermediate School, and ends with the VanderVeer Park fountain and allee.

The Davenport Community School District has erected these award-winning urban monuments at Central High School and J. B. Young Intermediate, in the heart of the central city, to help tie together their educational campuses. The monuments provide markers denoting the school, as well as its relationship to the arterial roads and extended corridor. At each location, the monuments relate to the building’s design character and signify the importance of education to the Davenport community.
